About the KONTUR Project

Real-time air alert and aerial threat map of Ukraine — kontur.systems

KONTUR shows the air-raid alert status across all regions of Ukraine and the movement of aerial threats — drones, cruise and ballistic missiles, guided glide bombs — on a single interactive map. The service is free, requires no registration, and works in the browser as well as a Telegram Mini App.

No artificial intelligence in data processing

KONTUR does not use artificial intelligence to receive or recognize data from messages. That's a deliberate design choice, and it directly drives the service's main advantages:

Update speed

From the moment a new target appears in the system to when all map users see it, roughly 50-60 milliseconds pass. Updates are pushed over a live connection (SignalR/WebSocket) — no server polling, no manual page-refresh delay.

Even during a sharp spike in message volume thousands at once — the system processes them within seconds, without dropping updates or stalling.

What the map shows

The system distinguishes 17 separate aerial threat types, each with its own marker on the map:

Alongside this, the map shows the air-raid alert status for every region of Ukraine in real time.

Data sources

The system analyzes messages from open Telegram channels (regional military administrations, the Ukrainian Air Force, and other public OSINT sources), automatically determining the threat type and its approximate location. Alert status data comes from the official api.ukrainealarm.com API, with automatic fallback to alerts.in.ua (an unofficial aggregator) if the primary source is unavailable.

KONTUR is a situational-awareness tool, not an official alert system. If an alert is announced in your region, always take shelter immediately, regardless of what the KONTUR map shows.
